Newbie here. Just purchased a '78 Kingsley, our first GMC. I have known about these great machines since I was a kid when my father was interested in them new. He purchased another brand of coach and we traveled extensively while I was growing up, but I think he always had regrets for not getting the GMC. I feel as if I am fulfilling a bit of my father's desires with the GMC, but I digress. I have a little experience with the drivetrain as I worked in an Oldsmobile dealer while in school (and Toronados still had 403s then). Fast forward to 2011 and an old friend of my wife mentions that they bought a '73 Sequoia. The friend posts about their cross country exploits piquing my wife's interest. So we start looking at coaches and I found this website and other great Internet references. We settled on a '78 Kingsley with 43k original miles. This coach is nearly a one-owner as the seller purchased it in '82. I was particularly interested in this one as it is very original and pretty well maintained. A bonus was a milk crate full of service manuals and documentation. We will spend the winter going through the mechanicals and getting it into shape for travel next spring.
