We reprinted ours sanding and shooting with hight build primer and sanding some more.
Hight build prime covers up all the small nicks and chips.
The larger nicks and chips DuPont light wait filler for boats.
Final coat was DuPont Acrylic Air Craft paint.
You can no longer buy or use DuPont Acrylic Automotive in California.

A friend of mine who paints Yachts for a living painted our GMC in our free standing car port/paint booth.
We have also painted five or six cars the same way.
One car and one truck went on to best in show.
Bottom line if a good painter can paint Yachts in the water.
He sure as heck can paint Hot Rods on gravel in a car port.
I would not try and remove your paint.
Sand it and use a good primer giving a good seal from what's on your coach and teeth for your top cost to hang on to.
Sanding! Makes my shoulder HURT just thinking about it.
