Well after a 3 1/2 hour drive I had the good fortune to meet up with Tom Phipps, his patient wife Marilyn, and Jeremy Knezek to remove parts from a 23' 1973 GMC Sequoia. The primary purpose was to secure parts for Espen Heitman's restoration of a 1973 Sequoia in Norway. Maybe I'm pervese but this was fun. Of course I got to do fun stuff like bashing out a bad windshield while Jeremy got stung multiple times. Wasp spray should be item 1 on the checklist. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and it was pleasant while only raining before we arrived and as I was leaving. I could not have enjoyed the visit with Tom and Jeremy more. Fortunately many of the things Espen needed were there and I got a full truck load of stuff that is now in my garage as the pictures illustrate. My wife asks why her car is not in the garage. Of course it was too much for the short time we had and we agreed to reconvene when the Dixielanders are in town in Mid October. Actually, we will be 30 miles away at Nocculula Falls-or however you spell it. Chuck Boyd wants to get the front subframe, Tom Pryor wants the bath module, etc. That should be a great time and hopefully we can coordinate the outing with the Dixielanders Club. I haven't forgot about everyone's requests, it will just be at a later date. Also met up with Ahamilton on the way home and exchanged parts. Seems like Mark and I are always in a rush and never have time to visit. Got home after 11 1/2 hours enroute and onsite just a little tired, a lot dirty but with a smile on my face.
