When I was putting in the air conditioner compressor, I had it mounted and was putting in the charge with the engine running and all of a sudden the engine cut out. Instantly, no stumble. I checked the spark and that was not the problem. I poured a little bit of gasoline into the intake and it started and ran until the gasoline was burned up. So, I knew I had a fuel problem. I checked all of the TBI fuses and the connectors and could not find the problem. Then somehow I looked across the top of the engine and saw the wire that leads to the knock sensor was laying on top of a header tube. I picked it up and saw that the insulation was burned through and a bare wire was touching the exhaust header. I then tried to start the engine and it started right up and ran fine.

Apparently if the knock sensor wire is grounded the fuel injection will not work.
