We are also using Happy Camper, but "Always Fresh" (www.alwaysfresh.com)
also works very well. We used Always Fresh for several years, then tried
Happy Camper partly because we got a really good price on a tub, and
partly because the place we bought the Always Fresh closed, and we
couldn't find a local source. Couldn't smell any difference between the
two. We didn't even do the recommended drain and rinse before switching.

Great products, both of them.

I never completely empty the black water tank, but quit pumping when the
macerator begins to "pulse" as the tank is almost empty. That leaves a
little "starter" in the tank.
I then wash my hands in the bathroom sink to add a little more water,
dump a couple of cups of water in the toilet and sort of follow the
instructions on the package.
