> My personal experience with three coaches and three furnaces is that you can't beat a new furnace.

Hey Lance,
Of course i hear you on that, but then again my experience has been pretty great between 2 coaches and 2 original furnaces.
One of them has never needed any servicing in 10 years so far, and the other has needed the fan bushings replaced a couple times over 14 years... not a bad track record.
I don't have any experience with any of the newer furnaces, but there's also the line of thought that sometimes "they don't make em like they used to"... not sure if that applies here!
Bottom line, after assessing all the work that my friend needs to do on his recent acquisition, i figured it wouldn't hurt to see if anybody had a decent working original furnace that they might've ripped out due to remodeling, etc.
I guess besides the cost savings, FWIW, there's also the idea of not sacrificing a decent working unit to a land-fill :)

> One more suggestion: Most of our coaches have at least one a/c unit and most of these units are Duo-Therm which have an optional heating coil that is available, inexpensive and easy to install.

Yes, he has the heat strip (hasn't tested it yet)... but of course that only helps to an extent... and not so good when you're dry camping...

Anyway, we'll see if anything turns up, and if not, then of course he'll be looking into the new models on the market.
Anybody have a good suggestion in that department? brand / BTU / model numbers?
Many thanks, (and on behalf of my friend David, who will soon be doing his own bidding on the list here!)
cheers,
Greg
