Complete check out of Motorhome at Applied GMC in March, June trip to
Vicksburg, Miss.

1. 300 miles, lunging and possible vapor lock problems as I climb to
Denver from SLC.

2. 700 miles, amp meter starts pegging the limits, Head lights vary
in intensity at night depending on rpm.

3. 1500 miles, refrigerator shops working on propane or AC from
generator or AC shore power.

4. 1100 miles, amp meter starts shows 13.2 volts, generator stops
working, we hear hissing in the generator compartment.

5. 100 miles, 12V feeding the TV shuts down, Amp meter shows 10 volts.

6. 30 miles, engine starts to die, Amp meter is pegged negative &
Emerg Batt/boost battery switch doesn’t help.

7. Find Larry Foote in SLC on GMC Black List, towed to his shop and
team goes to work and finds replaces & repairs.

a. Back 6V batteries dry as a bone and bulging, replaced, Front
battery, no charge, when charged everything comes to life again.

b. Generator is dead, upgraded for 80 to 100 amps.

c. Major grounding rewiring of front 12V and the 2 golf 6V batteries,
Starter battery replaced & upgraded.

d. Solenoids replace in front and back, 12V discharging prevention
switch installed.

e. Tubing stalled around fuel line between gas filter and carburetor &

July Trip to Cleveland – Cinnabar

1. 1730 miles and arrive in Cleveland, everything is working, no
Engine lunging or vapor lock problem gone.

2. After major rain storm, lunging of engine, only high RPM will keep
engine running.

3. Every time I have to stop, engine dies. Major black smoke and soot
from exhaust after start up, engine limps along for the next 100 miles.

4. Engine seem to be flooding from gas, yet I arrive at Cinnabar
(whew, I made it). Turn off engine. Start engine, purrs like a cat and runs
fine?????

5. Cinnabar upgrades and replaces the following;

a. Carburetor & Distributor – replaced along with distributor cap and
coil.

b. Additional 12V battery installed in parallel with the 2 6V golf
batteries that are in series and Caps for recovering moisture installed.

c. Gas tank selector valve replaced and fuel gauge repair and new
tubing ran.

6. Everything works great, engine starts easy without pumping gas
pedal. The motorhome steers itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7. 60 miles from Cinnabar, Cruise Control starts dropping off.

8. 200 miles from Cinnabar, engine start to lunge (just like before)
after running for 3.5 hours at 65-70 miles per hour.

9. Engine continues to run, but only at high RPM (around 3K), dies at
toll booth, very hard to start again, Major black smoke and soot from
exhaust after start up.

10. I fill up at gas station. When starting again, everything starts
working great again, no problems, arrive in Cleveland without any problems,
engine purring like a cat.

11. Today, Saturday morning I start the engine, hard to start Major black
smoke and soot from exhaust after start up.

12. This evening, I start the engine without any pumping of the gas
pedal, engine purring like a cat and again 30 minutes later without a
problem???????

I need your help. I will be traveling back to SLC/Lehi on Monday. Anyone
seen anything like this before. Any thoughts. What in the world could be
going wrong??????
