I just like the idea of a 39 year old motorhome being as good or better as it was 39 years ago.
But then I came from a different place being a old Hot Rod guy.
We also drive an old 1950 Chevy 1/2 pickup.
Built and sold a 1948 Chevy Convertible.
It now lives in Uppsala Sweden.
Not bragging, but it pick up second place out of over fifty American cars at a car show last weekend in Sweden.
Yes it is bragging
We have up grade a lot of things on our 74 Canyon Lands.
On the inside rebuilt furniture using red oak,new upholstery, build a real bed in the back with a custom memory mattress , new window covering, parquet flooring, buzz box gone replace with a battery monitor ,and a bunch of other small from the two Jim's.
Running gear engine roller rockers, cam, double row timing chain, Dick Patterson distributor,Howell TBI Fuel injection, one ton front end by Manny, final drive by Jim K.
Replaced the generator set, Alcoa wheels, new paint.
We are still a head $ wise.
Stopped to look at a sprinter motorhome last week nice.
The cost was $59,995.00 plush tax and state fees.
We have around $30,000 or less in our GMC my wife Susie and I really like our rig.
Susie likes the way it handles.
There you have some idea as to why we like our 39 year old GMC.
For us it's a lot of bang for our buck
Thanks

Coaches are being upgraded at a great rate, there are projects that are started and never finished, others have fires or accidents, others are donor coaches or parted out. All of these take away a chance of preserving an original coach. Some are too far gone and there is no real chance that they'll be restored to drivability, much less restored to original showroom condition.
