I haven't run my Genset much, I have tested it here and there, but just a warmup. It's a newer Onan Emerald 6.k KW, pretty nice unit.

Well the power went out on Friday night, we had 150,000 people without power, so I knew it was going to be a while!

I ran the gen for about 2 hours friday night, worked flawlessly.

Saturday I changed the oil and filter and then ran it overnight for 14 more hours. I was powering my house, via an extension cord and a power strip and the neighbors. I slept in the coach with the AC on in the back bedroom.
The generator hummed along nicely and didn't bother my sleep except when the AC and 1 or maybe 2 refrigerators all kicked on at the same time. The poor generator, got quite a surprise but recovered easily. But the RPM drop would scare the worry wort in me and wake me up.
By the end of the night tho I was used to it and it didn't bother me anymore.

So much for my MPG calculations!
