Fellow GMC.netters,

Elaine & I have recently returned from our first GMC rally in our GMC.
We were gone for a total of 14 days.
Spent four of them in Dothan at the GMCMI convention.
We had so much fun there !
Arrived as strangers, and felt as though we left as family.
Everyone was so nice to us.
We met so many people, and saw so many things.

We signed up for the mentor program, and had Ken Henderson take the challenge, and looked over our GMC.
He gave us lots of info, and answered many of our questions.
Fortunately, he spotted a very worn alternator belt (only 5,000 miles on it) and told me to replace it.
I am very thankful that I was able to fix it at the rally, than on the side of the road on the way home.
Big thanks to Ken, for all he did for us.
I also got to meet Mr. Emory Stora.
He too was on my list of people to meet in person.
Like Ken, Emory gave me his opinon on a few questions, and took some time with me regarding my Onan generator.
Got lots of information, and really appreciate his time with us.
We purchased a GMC (pinewood derby style) vehicle and Mr. Dale Ropp gave us lots of help putting it together.
We left early and did not get a chance to attend the races on Tues., but there is always next year !
I got so many stories, that it could go on enough for a book. (and I'm a Newbie!)
So, I'll stop , for now.

We were going from sun up to sun down every day.
So many choices of what to do next.
As with most adventures I get into, I enjoy taking photos of them.
I dragged my camera around with me most of the time, and did manage to get a few photos of the things I saw.
But, being new to the group, I was a little timid and did not get photos of everything.
I did get a chance to take a walk and do my best to capture a lot of the different GMC's in the parking lot.
I think I got most of them, (but not all of them).
I put up a flyer on the bulletin board offering free photos of your GMC, but only had 6 people take me up on it.
Maybe next year, I might be able to do a better job and have more GMCs show up for the "GMC photo booth".

I put together a small gallery of my adventure on my website, and made all the photos downloadable in full resolution for free.
Just follow the downloading directions on the gallery, if you want any of them.

I would like to thank everyone one we met for the kindness shown to us.
We had so much fun, and so many wonderful memories of a very special time in our life.

We are already looking forward to next year.

Sincerely,
Glenn & Elaine Gardner...G2photosmx.com Smile
