Hi Everyone:
I have an interesting electrical/wiring question and I wonder if anyone has seen this issue previously.
Until about 5 months ago, the horn on my 1973 GMC worked great. Then, I used the horn for an extended period - let's say 5 minutes (I am unsure whether the current problem relates to that issue or not). Sometime after that, I noticed the horn was not working.
Because the horn relay was not "clicking" when I pushed the horn button, I replaced that first. Interestingly, when I reconnected all the wiring, the relay still did not click.
When I connect the horns - in isolation (i.e., separate from the relay) - they work fine.
Here's the weird part: I connected all terminals going to the horn's relay terminal. Then I connected test wires to the horn relay positive side and the horn relay's negative side and ---- nothing.
How can that occur? I know that there is positive current flowing to the horn battery terminal.
Any information anyone can provide would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Keith
