This isn't a new trick but it was new to me when I saw it at a fellow metal shapers shop up in Minneapolis.

I have a bunch of files and most folks have at least a few. Some of mine had handles, some didn't. I was always afraid I was going to loose my grip and shove the tang into my wrist. I've seen it happen and it ain't pretty. Problem is that file handles aren't that good, they get loose, don't fit, and generally are not good unless they are the molded from the factory type.

Drill a small hole and drive the tang in. Works amazing,feels great in your hand, and is vastly safer than having no handles. Plus now they can be hung up easily instead of banging around in a drawer getting dull.

Wear eye protection because some golf balls have silicone liquid in the center that will squirt out. Ask me how I know... Rolling Eyes
