We are looking for recommendations as to which laptop computers are the sturdiest and most reliable these days.

Susan often uses her laptop for navigation while we are motorhoming, and the bouncing has taken a toll on the hinges of some models.

She also uses her laptop on Amtrak and during other travels - it certainly doesn't just sit on a desk somewhere.

She was pretty happy with several Gateways over the years, but her current model is a Toshiba, just over a year old and it has already needed the hard drive and memory replaced (under warranty) and now the CD drive isn't working and has to be replaced.

Any suggestions for a reliable replacement? She teaches online, and needs dependability above all else.

She's using Windows 7 right now, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!
