Looking through Craigslist in cars and trucks yesterday, found an ad for "GMC Motorhome for sale or trade".
Called and talked to the owner of a towing company, said he bought it from a friend of a neighbor who had died, and wanted it out of storage where it had been for a year or so.
Said he had not started it, since he was afraid of old gas, so selling as is.
How much?, I asked. $2000.00 he replied.
Trying to contain myself, I got directions and drove the 40 miles to his tow yard and when I got there, they had it running.
Said he checked the gas, it looked ok, so he hooked up a battery and fired it up. Drove it up and down the road a few times, said all worked well. Runs very well.
Said after he got it running, he went to his computer and changed the price to $3500.00, but since he had told me 2K, he sold it to me for that price. Honest man. I paid his a very reasonable fee to tow it to my house, being the tires are shot.
I didn't tell him I already owned one, and he knew nothing about it. Said he paid $1200.00 for it and just wanted to make a few bucks.
Coach is a 75 model, I beleive a Palm Beach, cause of some of the green paint I found and a piece of that green shag still in a cabinet. Send the vin to John Shotwell.
Coach had a complete restoration maybe 10 or so years ago, as the paint has faded and the leather on the drivers seat is worn. 75,000 miles.
Lots of upgrades like new electronic cruise control, aluminum step, etc., that I can transfer to my coach.
2 working a/c's, shop manuals, dash cover, new buzz box, new air bag compressor (fast) $700. semi truck battery (house battery) looks new. Onan that cranks, but won't start.
Inside seating in leather, with power front seats, vinyl headliner (nice) and tile floor (cracked).
Anyone recognize this coach, I'd like to get some background on it. Comes from North Fl. coast.
Don't really know what I'm gonna do with it, but could not pass it up. Here are photos.
