I just wanted to follow up on a prior thread where I asked about traveling through Iowa and Nebraska. We drove across most of Iowa today on US-20 and, if you are crossing Iowa and can take a northerly route, that a good way to go. I have crossed Iowa quite a few times in the past but always on I-80 and it was not a pleasant experience. This road is not boring - it is mostly straight but lots of ups and downs that are bigger than those in the area of I-80 and there are lots of trees and corn but much more scenic. It gets especially scenic in the western part - maybe Nebraska will be even better.
Another good thing is that there are lots of Casey's General Stores and they all seem to sell real gasoline. The 87 octane regular unleaded is 10 cents more a gallon than the super-unleaded which does have crapohol in it to get it to 89 octane. They are all along US-20 and, hopefully for GMCMI attendees, they are all over the state. I have already seen one in Nebraska that sells it that way too.
