Recently someone posted a link to a really well built Mid-Engine Ford
Fiesta. http://www.overbeckmachine.com/Fiesta/
The owner used a TH-425 with a plethora of mods, one of which was a custom
TruTrac locking diff.

I was perusing the web tonight and stumbled across a discussion with the
owner where he divulges the basics of how & what he did.

Here are a few snippets of his comments:

"Wonderful buildup. What posi did you get to fit into a Toro / Eldo FWD box
?
>
I used a eaton 9" ford 31 spline trutrak from summit. bushed carrier bearing
area to use stock toro bearings and made a spacer for the ring gear. while
I was
at it I put a set of 3.70's in from the motorhome guy in fremont/Milpitas
can
post a pic if needed. wanted something standard. had to make new 31 spline
axle
stubs.

The Trutrac I used is DTL-913A586 31 spline thats summits part number."

The guy also mentions that Mickey Thompson was rumoured to have made a few
Aluminum Diff housings for the TH425, but he has had no luck finding one.

I've tried contacting the guy to see if might be willing to share a bit
more detail on the mods needed to get the truetrac in the TH425 diff
housing. If he responds, i'll share the details here.
