My Chinese Michelin jack is fading into the sunset so I'm looking for a replacement (no rebuild available). Harbor Freight's sale flyer shows several on sale. Is it worth it to spend the big bucks on an American made jack if you can find one, or is it smarter to buy the cheaper Chinese jacks and trash them every few years when they fail. It seems you can buy three cheap ones for what one American made jack will cost. What's the consensus? Also, what is the prevailing thought on aluminum jacks? Are they up to the task or likely to break in the process? HF has them on sale for less than $200. The older I get, the heavier my steel jack gets. Has anyone got a recommendation on what jack to buy?
