Got the new issue of Hot Rod (October) today. On page 80. they show a carb heat shield with the hint,”A simple heat shield
is a lifesaver when its hot on Power Tour.
So I went down in the basement and looked in my carb cabinet. Dug out a genuine GM heat shield for a Q-jet left over from
the 70s, part# 3969837. GM apparently thought it was important back in the carburetor days. Obviously, I never needed it,
but don’t knock it unless you’ve needed it and tried it.
