Daughter's Chevy Uplander a/c has stopped working. Local shop in Hillsboro says the condenser is blocked/plugged and will cost >1000 to repair. System is not leaking- high side pressure is >350psi.
O'Reilly's has condenser for $156. Described as a "parallel" flow- can not be flushed. I assume that means the OEM one is also parallel and cannot be flushed.
A local shop here at Lake Almanor will evacuate the system for me next week. Will the evacuation possibly remove the blockage in the condenser? If not, how does one accomplish that?
I intend to recharge the system with Duracool. MUST we replace the condenser? What other parts MUST be replaced.
Parts are not available locally but Daughter can pick up condenser, dryer, expansion valve, and O-ring kit in Red Bluff tomorrow and bring up to Almanor
Trying to save her a few bucks. All suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks
