Several years ago I bought a used OEM Vacuum Pump ,I bought it from a fellow
out West ,that repairs them .
I didn't install it immediately .several months later I installed it and it
didn't work to good.
Upon inspection ,he had gobbed some Silicon seal on the ruptured Diaphragm
without cleaning the burnt carbon off it.
I ended up buying a new one ,which I should have done in the first place.
Beware of buying unknown repaired Devices ,where Safety is concerned.

I haven't really thought through the pump vs reservoir implications. I
just installed a Cad suspension compressor as the vacuum pump, considering
it more reliable than the old Delco pumps at this stage of their life (I've
got a bunch of them with ruptured diaphragms).
