Tom Phipps and his lovely wife Marilyn drove an hour to meet with my
wife and I. Marilyn talked decorations and curtains and fabrics and
such with Dana, while Tom explained what was what with my electrical
system. :) Turns out my battery positive goes to BOTH sides of my
combiner, when it's supposed to be house battery positive on the left
and engine battery positive on the right. Further, both my negative
battery cables were tied together as one LONG cable for no apparent
reason. He went over some other things as well, and I took notes,
soaking up as much knowledge as I can.

After talking with Tom about the pros and cons of each coach, I have
decided that the 78 Royale is going to be the one I work on first. All
its wheels are the right size, all the connections for the generator
are in place (just need to add the 6kw Onan currently out and in need
of repair), the dash is not apart, and most importantly it drove home
at highway speeds for 150 miles, whereas the 77 Palm Beach limped two
miles from the campsite.after not running for 20 years.

Next project is cutting 4x4s and 2x4s and blocking up both coaches and
taking the brand new rubber off the junkyard tires on the Palm Beach
and put them on the Royale. The nice thing about this project is it's
free. :) Then, I'll have to get fire extinguishers and a house battery
and see what happens. :)

After "school" was out, we took the Phippses out to eat for Sunday
dinner. We had a really good time and I really appreciate them taking
the time to give us a better orientation as to what we're dealing
with. They are definitely classy people. :)
