G'day,

Awhile back I commented on an email noting that if the trans vent spewed oil
the sender would stick some old socks on top of it.

I responded by noting that would not be a good idea and was rewarded with
more comments by the sender that he was joking which I found as humorous as
someone yelling "FIRE" in a crowed theater as a joke.

I received an off net message from another GMCer wondering what would cause
fluid to spew from the vent.

I visited Manny on the way back to Australia and he advised that a leak of
sufficient volume into the chain case that couldn't drain back into the pan
fast enough would raise the volume to a level that the chain could / would
sling around the ID of the chain case and out the vent. A loose worn chain
could also cause the problem.

Regards,
Rob M.
