I have an old plastic spare tire cover (the one with the GMC logo imprinted in the middle), and want to find a way to attach it a bit more securely than just using the little clamp that's on the bottom side.

Has anyone used a bolt or some other method of attaching these a bit more securely? I think that a long bolt through the middle into the spare tire holder would be a good idea and could be not too obtrusive, but I wanted to check if any other ideas were out there.
