Count me as a happy camper. Late last June I replaced the ceramic front seal on my compressor with a double lip seal. I was lucky enough to get the tool kit for a good price on ebay, rented the pulley puller, and the parts are available. Except for all the trepidation of going into the unknown, the hardest part was removing and reinstalling the air conditioning compressor from the motorhome.
It was a beautiful, warm, day here, so when I cranked up the Motorhome to pull it back into it's parking space, and while it was on the fast idle cam, I turned on the A/C to see if she was still blowing cold. Howdy to 'yer face she's cold!
Now if I can get around to replacing the exhaust system we'll be road worthy all summer long! (God willing, and the creek don't rise).
From my post last year:
Here are some pictures of the double-lip seal kit and the tool kit.

That seal kit is not the correct part number for an A6, however I understand it is a superior design to the ceramic seal. It is supposed to replace the seal and the cage.
