My 4BT Cummins engine has an oil cooled built in the passenger side of
the block and there is no provisions for using the radiator so I let
it be. I did go with the extra plate for more cooling and its been
working great even with 110 degree weather through the central valley.
I'm using Gene Dotson/Jim Buchanan Aluminum Radiator and I'm using
both radiator coolers to cool the tranny by looping the out/in so
tranny out goes in the bottom and comes out the very top.
I'm bringing this up because my recent trip, on the way home I was
watching all my dash gauges very closely. No to brag but I have ten
gauges and eight of those are dual gauges for a total of eighteen
readings.
Because the 4BT is a four cylinder and I didn't want to rob any more
horsepower, I opted for two electric fans for sucking the heat from
the radiator.
Anyway the radiator works great and I'm really happy that the radiator
is more than enough to cool the tranny.
Thanks Guys
