Interesting, Greg, that the human eye has twice as many green receptors than red or blue......

------------
The human eye, is most sensitive to the yellow portion of the visible
spectrum - this is why deep red and blue is often used to let people see
what is going on in dark areas, without disturbing their night vision.
This makes both blue and red useful for cockpit lighting at night, but blue
being further from yellow than most commonly available reds, is often more
effective.
