My 77 royale only has adjustment for in and out on the hinge. To get fore and aft adjustments you will need to bend the hinge mount of the door frame. Before you start CHECK DOOR FRAME CAREFULLY AT HINGE BOLTS FOR CRACKING AROUND BOLT HEADS. You will probably need to remove one of the bolts completely to be sure. The factory bolts have a locking feature built into the underside of the head. These dig into the aluminum every time the bolt is tightened or loosened and the door shell can crack around the bolt head. If yours is cracked search the gmc site as someone has already come up with an alternate mounting method which is simpler and easier than welding and reinforcing the door (I did that before I knew of the alternate method). I would also replace the bolts with standard bolts with flat washers and maybe a little lock tite in leu of the serrated locking bolts. If door frame is sound you can go ahead and bend the hinge area
This can be accomplished by closing a 2x4 in between the door and the hinge pillar to enlarge the gap at the hinge side. To close the gap, open the door to where it almost touches the body and strike the hinge right at the pin location with a medium sledge hammer to drive body side of hinge towards the front of the coach. Insert piece of plywood between hinge and hammer face to avoid mangling the paint on the hinge. This is much easier to do with two people. One holding the plywood the other with the hammer. Start with light blows and re-check fit after each strike. If you over do it insert 2x4 in hinge side of jamb as you close the door and you can open the gap back up.

it appears to me that the lower half of my door needs to adjust slightly towards the front of coach to center door better,
i know the top hing has an adjustment which i think is meant to pull door in or out, am i correct on the top adjustment and is there an adjustmetn for the lower hing?
thanks
