Interesting day yesterday - walked into the local bank around noon, saw a guy laying face down on the carpet. Didn't realize what he was doing until some other guy, standing about two feet to my right, said "get on the ground".
I turned and looked into the ski mask covered face of a gun toting dude who was in the process of an armed robbery. I said "you got it", and hit the deck.
This all happened in a flash, and the whole episode was over in about 90 seconds. The thoughts were 'what is that guy doing on the floor', and 'why is this dude wearing a mask and sunglasses', and 'what's that in his hand'?. Oh, I get it---but in Ridgeville???
The girls behind the counter were visibly shaken and terrified. Turns out the guy laying on the carpet was my brother-in-law. We waited for the sheriff''s guys to come and take statements. Just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Seems the dude had just hit another place about a half hour north of here. Made the 6 o'clock news.
Not a real fun time...was kinda worried that I wouldn't see my birthday on Monday!
