In the course of repairs and upgrades I've done this summer, While the coach was up in the air, I pulled the trans pan and changed the filter and fluid. Book says refill with 4-5 quarts trans fluid and check. Back down on all sixes with 5 qts and no movement. 6 qts-nothing. At 7 quarts I could rev up and got it to the end of the driveway (300 ft) then rev again to get back. Nothing showing on the stick. Now at 8 qts, seems to work normal, but fluid just touching bottom of stick. Shows it needs another qt.

In addition to fluid and filter change, (yes I used the 2 o-rings) I also changed the final drive assembly, lost a little fluid there, and new radiator accounts for a little more. If it needs more, that will be 9 qts to be normal on the stick, and that seems excessive. I know too much is harmful. I did run it though the gears with the wheels off the ground, I didn't want to go out on the road and have problems.

Like I said, seems ok now, but wants another qt. Checked to be sure the dipstick tube was seated after removing for final drive install, and it is. Any ideas? Thanks.
