Am installing a 3" exhaust and the long portion of the pipe running down the right side next to the tanks has 2 "flanges" with a 3" rubber or plastic insert. I removed a 2-1/2" system and the PO had a piece of 3" pipe in the flange with the 2-1/2 running through that.
My question is, can I run my 3" pipe directly through this flange with the insert? It fits snugly and makes an excellent hanger. Will this insert melt or burn? I held fire from a lighter to it for 30 seconds or so and it did not melt or even smoke. But I wonder if this is designed to hold up to constant exhaust pipe heat.
Anyone know?

Thanks
