The tire place is going to attempt to fit some Cragars with a positive
offset onto the rear of my 1968 Pontiac Catalina. This is their last,
best shot. Nothing else in the system even looks like it will come
close. They're coming in tomrrow, and if they don't fit, I'm buying
some old Rally IIs from buddy Ian in California. If I'm lucky maybe I
can get the DNA discount from a brother in law that works for Fedex.

The Pearl River is flooding and is perilously close to where the Barn
Queen is parked; the "Swinging Bridge" in "Swinging Bridge RV Park and
Resort" goes over the mighty Pearl. Hurricane Lee flipped open my
cargo pod on the roof and dumped about 9 inches of water in there. I
now have a swimming pool on my roof and a jacked-up cargo pod.

There's a self-employed mobile mechanic that lives in the community.
Since I have to work and time is of the essense, I decided to call in
a professional. He rigged up a temporary fuel cell and the engine of
the Barn Queen (my 77 Palm Beach GMC motorhome) cranked right up. When
I met him yesterday afternoon, it ran like a sewing machine. You'd
never know it had been parked for 20 years. It was full of coolant,
full of transmission fluid and good clean oil. The only thing that was
low was the brake fluid.

I ordered some new 8.75x16.5 tires (4 to be exact). I wanted to tjust
take my wheels off the Pinto Bean (the 78 Royale) but I needed my
brother in law's truck for it, and baby sister would not allow it,
claiming tha tI would somehow kill myself at some point in the
process. I was going to ignore her and find a way to do it without
access to a pickup, but she said she'd pay for two of the tires. Well,
I need SOME new tires on at least ONE of these damn coaches, so I took
her up on it.

Have I mentioned that the tire shop guys love me?

I expect to be able to move her tonight if I'm lucky. If I'm EXTREMELY
lucky, the Cragars are going to fit my rear wheel wells on the Pontiac
(but I have a feeling they won't).
