Hi, We are putting a replacement engine in my son's Sprinter Van, The engine is a inline 5 cyl Mercedes Turbo Diesel. I want to add an EGT gauge. Would anyone know whether it is better to mount the thermocouple before the turbo on the engine manifold or after the turbo close to the outlet? The thermocouple is one the that could clamp on to either the engine exhaust manifold or the turbo exhaust manifold.

Thanks
