Finally, after a couple of years of restoration/renovation we took our '74 Canyonlands on an overnight, mainly to see how all the "stuff" worked. It ran beautifully with only a few minor glitches. The cigarette lighter doesn't work, so no GPS...but that's OK since we just went down I-5 about 50 miles and I knew where we were going. We love the way it drives and we're getting used to it's sounds, quite different than the SOB...I'd describe it as more mechanical sounding from the engine compartment but quieter. We had ten people in the campground stop by to discuss the GMC and a lady who shot a picture of us on the freeway. We gave tours.
Saw a couple of GMC's on I-5 south bound, a two tone light blue and a sort of lilac colored one, not together.
All in all, pretty pleased with the outcome and looking forward to more use. Thanks for all the help and info I've received from the forum.
