I research cars for at least 6 months before I make a purchase. My goal is to know more about the car I am looking for than the salesman. He/she must be generally informed about all they sell, I just need to know about the one I am going to buy.
We are going to need a new car to be towed behind the GMC in a year or so and I have been doing my homework. Cheverolet is coming out with the Sonic this fall. I think with the turbo and 6 speed manual it will be a great car to pull behind the GMC. It is rated at over 40 mpg. They have cancelled the Aveo. This Sonic is on a new unibody and made here in USA. The reports are that even with the 40 mpg rating it is still a peppy little car, much more so than the Ford and Honda that it will compete with.
Anyway, should you be thinking about a toad, maybe you might want to take a look at the Sonic. I really do not care which car you have and you may not like this one. Just food for thought. We have 130 on the Vibe gt and it might make 200 as it has a Toyota high performance engine. It is getting a bit beat up though. It gets 30 plus mpg and is a blast to drive with this engine and the 6 speed manual. The Sonic will be comparable in weight and size at 2700 lbs dry. 5 door hatch or a sedan will be available. I like the hatch as the rear door handles are hidden and it looks kinda like a 2 door from the side.
Anyway, just sitting out here enjoying our cool GMC and wanted to share this information with you.
