I had just posted about the huge plume of smoke south of Los Alamos (which is about 40 miles from Santa Fe as the crow flies.)
The 5:00 news just came on and they confirm what I said about it being south of Los Alamos. They say it is 12 miles south west of Los Alamos. It is heading for the Bandilier National Monument. They are evacuating campgrounds there. Bandilier is located just south of the city of Los Alamos.
The news says the smoke is stretching out about 100 miles from the fire and that it is a very, very large, fast moving fire.
The news also says there is a 500 acre fire spreading from south west of Albuquerque.
