Rather unexpectedly, we have decided to move to College Station, Texas, home of the "Fightin' Texas Aggies" of which I are one.
The move is effective 1 July 2011, leaving us little time to get this house prepared and on the market.
Subsequently, we are changing direction from used parts to new, reproduction and/or refurbished parts. Though we still need to dispose of three parts coaches and a few used parts, we are not accepting new orders at this time. There is a potential buyer for the remainder of GMC items including the parts coaches-but now, that possibility is just that, possible not confirmed.
Our new home has 2 acres and a 2-story garage/workshop so we will have a place for our two GMCs(the Yellow Rose will be sold) and we will restore the GMC Edgemonte. Our concern was in finding a place where we could park our coaches, two trailers and a tow dolly plus my tools and equipment.
We have proven the need and viability of the used GMC parts business. There remains an opportunity for someone to carry on with this business. Bob Stone is selling used parts but he has told me he prefers to do service and restoration. Right now he is building his shop which will have 4 GMC bays. So there is an opportunity for someone to deal solely in used parts and I will share my experience with anyone who wants to do this. The addage of "never throw anything away" regarding GMC parts has never been more true. Even though I have several dinettes and seats, someone, someday will want them. You will be amazed at requests I have received for parts, sure surprises me.
We are looking forward to this new adventure, to watching the Aggies win, and to remaining in the GMC community on a smaller scale. Our thanks to all who have supported us in this 3.5 years of selling used GMC motorhome parts You have proven the need for this business to continue-perhaps now more than ever with new challenges from ethanol and whatever they throw at us next.
Thank you so much, Michael Bozardt
Oh, if you requested parts from me at Patterson, I left your cards at my shop but will contact you soon.
