One thing to note is that any of the "multiple gap" plugs only fire on one of
the gaps at a time.  Once the arc forms across one of the gaps the voltage drops
and it becomes impossible to arc across any of the others.  The plugs can last
longer, but only if electrode erosion is the cause of the "wear-out".  As
one electrode erodes to a larger gap, another will become the favored electrode
and this distributes the erosion over all the gaps.  So, in summary, no, I
wouldn't expect the effective timing to change at all.

Neat idea. I wonder if these would change our timing any?? Since they
have 3 different places where they ignite the mixture in the cylinder,
there wouldn't be just one flame front, but three so the mixture would
burn quicker. Just wondering. Anyway, I'm done thinking about it.
