The following reminded me about something I heard about the outside mirror
brackets.  Are the nuts on the inside captive?  Seems to me someone said that if
you remove the bolts the nuts will fall and they are difficult to get back in
place - or something like that.  Is removing a mirror bracket difficult?

Someone once suggested to take the mirror bracket off and take it to a "real"
paint store.  They should be able to whip up a batch of paint that should
match.  Most stores should be able to load it into something that works very
much like a rattle can.
