I my GMC with 16.5in wheels and was able to round up some 16in steel wheels from Mike Miller (Thanks Mike!). I put new tires on all around. The problem I found was that the 80mm calipers bind under the smaller wheels. Our original thought was to grind down the calipers to fit. In the mean time, I put back the 16.5's on the front. Today, I set out to fix this issue as the tires on the front are old and we have a trip coming up. I put the 16s on to see just how much I need to grind off. It's way too much! Never gonna fit.

So, probably need wheel spacers, new wheels, or 16.5 tires for the front. Looking for an economical solution as gas prices are already threatening our trip.

JimK sells the spacers at $375. Anything cheaper options? At that price I could buy two Eagle rims. Would those fit with 80mm calipers? Lastly, I could special order two 16.5 tires.

Any thoughts?
