Hallo all, we are on trhe road again!
Tom came over yesterday afternoon with a brand new radiator and helped me get it into place. He than went with my wife to go and have a bracket modified so that the altenator could be installed again. He left after making sure it fitted.
This morning I mounted the altenator and got a new, longer serpentine belt and the correct coolant, as per Gene’s instructions. After charging the batteries with the onan and the rental car. we managed to start the beast again. It turnrd out there was no apparant damage to the heads or head gaskets, so after having run it for about half an hour we went en route. We did about 150 miles today, after stocking up on water, LP and diesel. So far all is going well.
Thank you all for your support and especially Tom for being such a good Black Lister.
