From Kim's earlier note, I don't guess there's any chance of me wienie-ing
out of my commitment to giving a seminar at Patterson. So, I'll start right
now begging for help: I put a Sanden clone compressor on the 455 a couple
of years ago, and moved it to the Cad500, so I'm not completely ignorant
about what I'm supposed to talk about (aside from what CRS has stolen). But
a lot more folks have done installations and may have comments I should
hear.
If you've installed a modern compressor, I'd sure appreciate hearing any
tips, suggestions, part numbers, model numbers, brand names, sources,
prices, etc. I'll meld all the information I can gather into something that
hopefully will enable others to do the upgrade with less floundering than we
did. What I'd REALLY like to hear is how to install the new compressor
using the GMC hoses, without alteration. I know Sanden makes a rear housing
that's compatible with the GM dual connector, but I don't know any specific
vehicle it's used on, nor do I know whether the GM hoses will work without
modification -- I suspect the shorter Sanden may make the hose routing a
problem.
HELP! Off-GMCNet, please.
