I have a pair of those wheels on the front of mine. At least they look very
similar - mine are off a Chevy 2500. The bolt pattern is the same, but you will
need new lug nuts. In that time period GM used metric threads and you need
'Merican threads. Lug nuts cost me about $35, but others have found them
cheaper. The wheels have about 2 inches less offset than wheels for dualies, so
they work okay in the front, giving the same offset as adding the spacers that
some sell. But in the rear, even though some have used them, I don't think they
will clear the bodywork very well. The wheels have a larger center so will be
lug centered, which some say is unacceptable. I see no problem, as the tapered
lug nuts will center the wheel adequately - at least in my opinion.

Looking at buying a GMC and it needs new tires. Still has 16.5in wheels, so I
would like to change over to 16in at the same time. In an effort to make my
money stretch a little further, would these wheels work?

I'm guessing load and offset may be incompatable.
