Just another thought: Run a line over to the snorkle on the air filter housing
- put a fitting at the narrowest part and hook the hose to that. The air flow
during normal running will create a little bit of a suction there(actually at
full throttle it's more than a little bit), pulling the vapors out of the
canister. You could even just clamp a copper tube to the snorkle, bending the
end of it to go down the inlet, ending at the smallest part. Yes, the vapor
will go through the filter with no problem. The only disadvantage of this
arrangement is that with the engine off there could be some vapor come out the
hose and escape, causing a smell. That's one advantage of picking a spot inside
the filter - it would have to fill up the filter housing before it would start
coming out.

humm sure appreciate your help.
My airfilter housing on the drivers side has a 90 degree rubber elbow doing
nothing really. The left valve cover has a pvc valve, and the right valve cover
has a "breather" like the ones sold on jimk site. Maybe somehow I can figure out
how to enter under the cleaner housing past the filter so it can be close to the
carb. I'll have to see how I can do that. I thought the open vapor line I found
would of been a easy fix, go figure! lol
