While we had no earth shattering problems coming out west last week there were a couple of things that were not 100%.
1- My combiner failed before we left home. Had to run with Boost on late in the afternoons so I knew our house batteries were charged. Had to do the same thing to charge up the engine battery from the solar when we were sitting still, which was never for very long, so no big deal.
When we arrived I contacted Yandina. This is our second failure in a year. The one we have on the Onan works great. I was given a few things to check. I already knew it was bad, but, I checked them anyway. "Send it in". "We think you may need the 160". "For 70 dollars we will upgrade you". Now, that was a good deal in itself. The little 100 is only 60 bux. The 160 was something like 160 bux. So I sent it in. I get a note today and they told me they are sending me a 160 free of charge. They call it a "second". Had some misformed epoxy on it and could not sell it for new.
These are the kind of people that Jim K. deals with, ones that honor the guarentees on their products. I am very appreciative. Just thought I should pass this along so others would know that Yandina stand behind their products.
2- Oh yes, drove through El Paso with only front brakes again. Two years in a row. And the dang Roadmaster Toad Brake failed again. 4th time on the Brake Pro. I have written them, and told them about it locking up and flatspotting my tires. They have not responded. Will give them until Monday before I put Teri on them.
It seems I had a slow leak in the front rear wheel on the passenger side. Lost all the fluid. I filled the front bowl back up, hoping it would leak down and give me brakes again. Nope.
I am sick of these drum brakes. I just want to get a little brake so I can get down the Globe/Superior grade on my way to Applied GMC for new discs with the reaction arm.
All in all it was an uneventful trip. We enjoyed taking 3 days to drive 1400 miles. Have never traveled that slow before. May just make a habit of it.
Life is good.
