After driving about 100 miles I stopped at a traffic light and was watching the tach. It suddenly dipped and the engine died. It restarted immediately. I drove to the next light and just in case it was going to happen again, I shifted to neutral. Suddenly, the tach dipped and I was quick enough to step on the accelerator enough that it didn't die. I drove through another 10 miles of traffic and it didn't happen again. I don't think it was vapor lock because there wasn't anyother problem. I checked the vaccuum connections and they were tight. I also checked the spark plug wires and all seemed tight.

Any ideas as to what might have caused the problem and what to do to fix it?

Thanks for your suggestions,
Tom
