Replacing Exhaust Manifold Gasket [message #100096]

My passenger side exhaust gasket is leaking between the front two manifold bolts, along the joining seam. I've ordered the RemFlex gaskets from JmK. The question, should I have the manifold smoothed, or allow the Remlex to do it's thing?
Inquiring minds want to know.
