G'day,

Short drive yesterday - Helen spotted Hunting Island State Park, SC and
decided this where she wanted to spend a day or so. It is a very nice place,
however, the spot they assigned us was a bugger to back into, especially
with my lousy backing skills and Helen's "unique" way of directing me. We
went back and forth a number of times and I couldn't figure out where she
was directing me. Turns out she had misunderstood where the GMC would sit on
the site. Once we got that sorted it was a LOT easier.

Got up this morning and headed for the beach and went for an early morning
swim. Water temp was invigorating as it was a bit cool. When I got back to
the GMC Helen told me "you missed the deer!"

After coffee and juice we're off to Beaufort to have a look around. I was
also advised by the social directress that today was a day of swimming and
trying out our foldable bikes. "We wouldn't want to show up at DuQuoin and
not know how to ride them!" In the vernacular of the area "Yes'm!"

Technical report - the Onan shut down and wouldn't restart while we were at
a Tanger Outlet mall. Easy fix - oil level was too low. Note to self - need
to change the Onan oil next engine oil change.

Verizon report - I must apologize, I forgot that I had promised to report on
how well the USB 760 modem and their monthly service was. To date I have
been able to connect and download in Orlando, FL; Pt. St. Lucie, FL; Key
West, FL; Gainesville, FL; Americus, GA, Savannah, GA (Skidaway Island);
Hunting Island State Park, SC. I configured the full version of Microsoft
Outlook to download emails from my ISP - IINET in Australia. Yeah I know
there are "better" email programs out there but that's what I used when I
was a Field Rep for HS and I'm too damn lazy to try and learn something new!
In the major cities I get four out of four bars and I can download the
biggest files no problem. If I get only two out four I find that Outlook
doesn't like it and it "times out." If Outlook does time out I log onto
IINET and move the large files to a folder so I can download them when I
have a high speed Wi-Fi connection.

That's it for today.

Regards,
Rob M.
