Those who have followed any of our cross country adventure posts know that we lost a Toyo 225-75-16 E tire with 30000 miles out in the middle of no where Iowa. No Toyo dealers anywhere within a gazillion miles and the only near by town had just one tire in that size, an off bring Goodyear of some sort. So, we had to buy that one for nearly $200. I grumbled a lot but given no alternative simply accepted the inevitable.

Well, that tire has been fine for now about 8000 miles from there to the Maritime Provinces and back to western MT. We had purchased these Toyo tires from Les Schwab, a west coast regional tire dealer. Today we finally got back to where there was a Les Schwab store and stopped to talk with them. The manager said these are the best tires in that size on the road that they have ever handled and they should not fail. Even with 30000 miles on it and no physical tire to examine (I did have photos on my iPad) he adjusted it straight across for a new tire mounted and balanced. I purchased a second one so both new ones would be on the front.

That certainly exceeded my expectations! Since these stores are independently owned I couldn't say whether other stores would have done the same, but this action sure kept me a fan of their products and services and I would not hesitate to recommend them and these Toyo tires to anyone. Oh, and the build a dates were the 24th and 26th week of 2010.

Our spare is a 16.5 which had never been on the road. As soon as I can find another 16 rim I will buy a 7th tire from them and retire that who knows how old spare.
