Question for those that have done the steering box adjustment. I have done what the write up from Don Wirth (he was a great man!)said to do.

1. With the adjustment screw backed off and the power steering fluid pumped out I adjusted until I got about 5 in/lb with the stub shaft rotated CW to the end and backed of 1/4 turn.

2. Rotated the shaft to the center of the gear and I had to back off the adjustment to get the readings around 15 in/lb.

Two questions/concerns:

1. I expected to turn in the adjustment instead of back off the adjustment to get the 15 in/lb, does that matter?

2. I do get a different reading when going CW vs CCW so I split the difference between the two. Should both directions be about the same?

I was seeing about 5-8 in/lb different between the two (CW and CCW) reading.

So is this looking good or do I need to dig into this more?

Thanks
