Actually the real question is "how does this compare to the first "Koba" program
that kicked off building a spec motor for Arch's coach way back".

The overall concept was the same-- put together a rock solid, low compression
(runs on regular gas) low RPM, high torque output motor that is not finicky that
will stay in the hole under the hood for a good long time doing it's thing.  The
Koba motor was the first blush and this concept-- it worked great hten I needed
consistent, quality custom work with a quicker turn around and thats where our
Jasper/ Co-op program came in.  It worked well, yes we did have some issues but
we also had them with the Koba motors-- look, these things are not easy to build
and sometime *&^% happens and the best you can do is just work through it.  One
of the peramaters Jasper required was to have the motors installed through a
documented line of responsibility with a minimum standard on the install and set
up.   This is a fair request-- I mean some freak doing something his Drag buddy
tell him to do that lunches the motor just cannot happen.  There has to be a
minimum standard and I certainly agree.  Actually one of our motors was
installed by a person like that, it failed then the rats jumped from the ship
leaving me hold the bag-- was not pretty and i vowed to never be put into that
position again-- that person knows who I am speaking about!

While understanding the minimum standard thing and agreeing with it -- there is
still a segment of the market -- of which many of you guys reading this fall
into--- want to take on the task of dropping their motor. I understand that,
heck I fit into that category and it just would be really nice to offer that
person the chance of having a roller cam performance motor for back yard use.
So the theory to bring this to market will be that we will provide a "bible"
that the installer MUST follow.  They will be required to take pics of certain
things they do, sighn off that others were done and will be required to provide
reciepts that things like radiator updates, carb inspection and testing, oil
cooler lines replaced and basically all the things that would effect even the
best built motor and cause it to fail would be taken into account before any
warranty would be in effect.

So-- these motors are designed from the same spec. list as the Koba and the
Jasper/Co-op designs.

""When Tom's motor went down we
were just delving into our new plan for the roller cam motors where an
enthusiast willing to get greasy could purchase, install and have a warranty on
a performance motor for their GMC.  I was working with a new builder on
discovering what it would take to build to spec our motor. ""

Jim--how does this compare to the Jasper program?
